Anchorage Patrolman Rafael Espinoza is really a Mexican citizen named Rafael Mora-Lopez.
Choo gotta bee keedeenk me, maing ?!?
At a news conference Friday, U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler said that patrolman Rafael Espinoza, on the Anchorage police force for about six years, was really Rafael Mora-Lopez, a Mexican national working in the United States illegally.
Mora-Lopez, 51, was arrested Thursday and is being arraigned before a U.S. Magistrate Judge this afternoon. Loeffler declined to say when Mora-Lopez entered the United States and where he has been since then. But she said he didn’t appear to be part of a larger conspiracy.
Anybody up for a friendly – non-monetary – betting pool on how fast the charges are dropped, he’s given a green card, official citizenship and his badge returned ?
How about another friendly – non-monetary – betting pool on how fast every pusillanimous puissant punk trial lawyer and defense attorney licensed to practice in Alaska will try and track down every single person Officer Whateverhisnameis arrested, questioned, testified in court against and even wrote a summons for crossing in between and not at the green and attempt to have those incarcerated immediately released, any previous and pending charges dropped, all citations reversed, plus…… the money – billions of dollars in law suits for damages, false arrest, etc. against the city and much more.
There’s tons of Constitutional questions in this, including all local, county and state laws in Alaska and they’ll have far-reaching implications for a nice-sized “nudge” from the administration.
Oh right…… It can’t happen here.
