Next week, 25 November, is no longer a simple gathering at Tahrir Square called The Million Muslim Man March. The event is now officially national and titled “Friday Of The Single Demand”.
Hamas announced Thursday that the new rulers of Egypt – swept into power as a result of the “Arab Spring” rebellion – have given their blessing to a major demonstration to take place in Cairo next week. The “million man march” to be sponsored by Islamist groups a week from Friday will protest against the “Judaization” of Jerusalem.
Symbolically, the march will leave from the Al-Azhar mosque, Egypt’s most prominent, and proceed to Tahrir Square, which was the spiritual center of the protests that swept Hosni Mubarak from power last spring.
The march will be led by no less than Ahmed a-Taib, Egypt’s highest-ranking Islamic cleric and perhaps the most important in the entire Sunni Arab world. A-Taib, head of the Al-Azhar mosque, called the march “very important,” and worthy of the time of every Muslim who valued his religion. In recent weeks, a-Taib set up a special committee to prevent the progress of the “Zionist plan to Judaize Jerusalem.”
A-Taib has been very active in efforts to “liberate” the Temple Mount from Israeli control. At a conference last week, he said that Muslims needed to take the issue much more seriously; only thus, he said, would the Muslim goal of removing Jews from Jerusalem be achieved. Earlier this year, a-Taib met with Hamas chief terrorist Khaled Masha’al to work out a plan which Hamas could use to achieve that goal.

Update 1 – 18 November 2011 ; 10:00am Eastern
A lead-up to next Friday.
Tens of thousands of Egyptians rallied Friday in Cairo’s Tahrir square with Islamists in the forefront to protest against what they say are attempts by the country’s military rulers to designate themselves as the guardians of a new Egypt. It was one of the largest rallies in Egypt in recent months. Most rallies in Tahrir have been led by liberal- or left-leaning groups. But Friday’s rally was dominated by the country’s most organized political group, the Muslim Brotherhood, which has rarely come out in full force since the protests that forced President Hosni Mubarak to step down in February.
Gut instincts hollerin’ that the November 25th thing is going to be done outside of Egypt too. I’m thinkin’ London, Paris, maybe even Chicagoabad and Detroitistan too.
Somebody better wake up in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, because after the about-to-happen Egyptian elections and the minute The Muslim Brotherhood officially takes over Egypt, all hell is gonna head the way of Israel from many sides.
